How are the results announced?
Every applicant will receive a notice from IFAA as soon as the results are confirmed. Those who are chosen as scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the scholarship presentation ceremony at the Iowa State Fair in August of the scholarship year.
By applying for the Freshman Winner’s Circle, you will be eligible for the following scholarships:


Applicant must be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 or a current undergraduate attending an Iowa community college, 4-year college or university and pursuing a degree in Animal Science and/or Agricultural Business. Applicant must have a strong background in 4-H and/or FFA and demonstrate leadership while being involved in activities. This scholarship seeks to recognize future leaders in agriculture pioneering new ways to drive the industry forward. Preference will be given to applicant who shows a strong desire to remain active in agriculture after graduation.

The applicant should be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 at any Iowa community college, college, or university and have a strong background in sheep projects and activities. Preference in selection will be given to an applicant who shows a desire to remain active in the sheep industry after graduation.

Applicant should be an incoming freshman at any community college, college, or university in the fall of 2025, have a strong background in 4-H and/or FFA and demonstrate leadership abilities while being involved in activities. Applicant must have a desire to remain active in agriculture.


Applicant should be an incoming freshman at any Iowa community college, college, or university in the fall of 2025, have a strong background in 4-H and/or FFA and demonstrate leadership abilities while being involved in activities. Applicant must have a desire to remain active in agriculture.
Applicant should be an incoming freshman who for 2025 plans to attend a community college, college or university and pursue a degree in the field of agriculture. Career focus in the agriculture industry is expected. Applicant must have a strong agricultural background involving 4-H and/or FFA and have also demonstrated community, state, or national leadership activities. Applicant must have exhibited beef project(s) at the Iowa State Fair in 4-H and/or FFA. One applicant will be selected from each of four quadrants in the state of Iowa.





Applicant should be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 and planning to attend Iowa State University with a major in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences or in family and consumer science field of study in College of Human Sciences. Applicant must have been a participant in Iowa State Fair 4-H events/activities. Documentation showing specific involvement in Iowa State Fair 4-H exhibiting, events, or activities should be included in the appropriate application section. Preference given to applicant who is interest in the poultry industry.


Applicant should be an incoming freshman at any community college, college, or university in the fall of 2025, have a strong background in 4-H and/or FFA and demonstrate leadership abilities while being involved in activities. Applicant must have a desire to remain active in agriculture.

Applicant should be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 and planning to attend Iowa State University with a major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences or in family and consumer science field of study in the College of Human Sciences. Applicant should be incoming freshmen in the fall of 2025 at any community college, college, or university with a major in Animal Science or a curriculum in Agriculture and Life Sciences related to the animal industry.








Applicant should be an incoming freshman at any Iowa community college, college, or university in the fall of 2025, or an undergraduate in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University. Applicant must live in Story County and have a strong background in 4-H and/or FFA beef projects and activities. Preference will be given to applicant who shows a strong desire to remain active in the beef industry.

Applicant should be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 at any Iowa postsecondary school and have a strong background in swine projects and activities. Preference will be given to applicant

Applicant should be an incoming freshman at any Iowa community college or university, or undergraduate in Agriculture at any Iowa community college, college, or university in the fall of 2024. Applicant must have a strong background in meat goat production and/or exhibiting, projects and activities.

Applicant must have exhibited breeding swine at the Iowa State Fair FFA Swine Show at least once during their FFA membership and in a year prior to applying for the scholarship. Applicant should be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 in agriculture or agriculture related field at any Iowa university or community college. The applicant must have a strong background in FFA leadership and show a strong desire to remain active in agriculture after graduation. Applicants are eligible to apply every year they meet the requirements; however preference will be given to those who have not received an Iowa State Fair FFA Blue and Gold Gilt Sale Scholarship in the past.
Applicant should be an incoming freshman in the fall of 2025 at any Iowa community college, college, or university. The applicant should have a strong background in large animal livestock and be enrolled in the field of agricultural.
